As many of you know… I’m always very blonde; except for those two random times I tried (and failed) to be a Brunette. I LOVE my blonde hair, don’t get me wrong, but I needed a change and wanted to update my hair to a more natural trendy look. I wanted to incorporate some of my dark blonde natural color into my hair. The way I decided I wanted to do this was with the Balayage technique.
According to VOGUE, “Balayage is a French coloring technique that was developed in the 1970s. It’s a freehand technique where the colour is applied by hand rather than using the traditional foiling or cap highlighting techniques.” The major appeal for women and why it’s quickly become one of the hottest trends is because “You can achieve so many different effects from soft, natural highlights to something strong and pinky.” It’s also VERY low maintenance compared to traditional high/low lights. The grow out is virtually undetectable (if you use a shade closest to your natural root color), which is why it appealed so much to me. I wanted my dark blonde incorporated into my hair without needing to go get it touched up every 4-6 weeks.
I shopped around to many different Salons in the Athens, GA area and decided on going to Sorella. Their price point was in my budget, their staff was very welcoming and friendly, and I felt relaxed while there. That is a HUGE deal for me. If you have been searching for a great place to go and are wanting to try out something new with your hair, I REALLY recommend going to the Sorella Hair Studio. My hair stylist was Jackie and she was AMAZING! Whether it’s the balayage technique or something different you are interested in, they can do it all!
So.. are you ready to see some pictures??
*It’s a little hard to tell via camera because my flash picks up WAY more of the blonde than the dark blonde/brunette color. BUT in person it’s the most amazing my hair has ever looked. The bleach blonde/brassy color is virtually gone, and I still have a lot of my gorgeous bright blonde color. The only difference is now when my roots start to grow in, you won’t be able to tell because it is way more natural!*
Here’s a no makeup, playful picture, but you are really able to see the darker blonde… AND that I have no re-growth line!
If you are located in Athens, GA and want a $20 OFF coupon.. I have one to give away! First one to ask me for it, get’s it.
